Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

Day 5

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

You are present in Your word, Jesus. As I turn toward these verses, prepare my heart, spirit, body, and mind. Let your presence flow from these words, through my pen, and into my heart. I love you, Jesus.

He is the head of the body, the church.

He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he himself might be preeminent.

For in him all the fullness was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile all things for him, making peace by the blood of his cross [through him], whether those on earth or those in heaven.

Colossians 1:18-20

Jesus, You overcame death. You were the beginning of life before creation. And when You stepped out of the tomb, You were the beginning of true, eternal life. By the power of Your blood You reconciled us all. Now nothing can take us from Your hand. Teach us to place our feet in your footsteps, to follow your lead. Teach Your church to become one body, guided with You at its head as we step out of the grave and become reconciled to You.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
