Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

Day 26

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

You are present in Your word, Jesus. As I turn toward these verses, prepare my heart, spirit, body, and mind. Let your presence flow from these words, through my pen, and into my heart. I love you, Jesus.

Amen, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, [amen,] I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Matthew 18:18-20

Jesus, You said these words knowing that You would one day leave this earth and return to heaven. As we move toward the your ascension back to heaven, help us to hold only the promises that You left with us. That You would always be in our midst when we gather, and that You would hear and answer us when we unite in our prayers. Hear us, O Lord.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.

Journaling Prompts

If I had someone with me to pray right now, we would pray for…

I want to raise a prayer in unity with… for… (spend some time in prayer for a friend or family member for their prayer request, knowing that they pray for it too.)

What is bound or loosed on earth and in heaven depends on our will mirroring the will of God. Spend some time examining your prayer request. Journal about what you are asking for, and spend some time asking the Holy Spirit to give your wisdom and understanding about what God wants for that area of your life. Often, we ask Him for what we want for that area of our life, not taking into account that He has a better plan. Spend some time asking to understand and wait for His better plan.
