Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

Day 20

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

You are present in Your word, Jesus. As I turn toward these verses, prepare my heart, spirit, body, and mind. Let your presence flow from these words, through my pen, and into my heart. I love you, Jesus.

During the fourth watch of the night, he came toward them, walking on the sea.
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea they were terrified. “It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear.
At once [Jesus] spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”

Matthew 14:25-27

Jesus, in the midst of life’s storms, I don’t always see You but rather my fear. When I am afraid, I look around and see only my circumstances and I don’t think to look for You. Help me to see You walking towards me on the stormy seas and not assume everything around me is only to be feared. You are with me, and You cross oceans to reach me in my storm. Thank You.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
