Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

Day 13

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

You are present in Your word, Jesus. As I turn toward these verses, prepare my heart, spirit, body, and mind. Let your presence flow from these words, through my pen, and into my heart. I love you, Jesus.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus, today I felt angry. I was so tired and for a moment I questioned why I couldn’t find rest. You promise that we will find rest in You. But then I realized that I am trying to do everything on my own. I am striving to serve my family, meet needs, and maintain my home in this chaos. I am trying to pull forward under my own yoke, not Yours. Your burden is light and easy. You don’t promise that there will be no hardship, but You promise that I will find joy in You, even in the midst of that hardship. Turn my heart back to You and give me rest.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
