Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

Day 1

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

You are present in Your word, Jesus. As I turn toward these verses, prepare my heart, spirit, body, and mind. Let your presence flow from these words, through my pen, and into my heart. I love you, Jesus.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Jesus, this broken world is so dark and scary. The distractions and chaos around me are so deafening that I can’t hear Your still, small voice anymore. Lord, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You. Father, focus my eyes on Your love and goodness. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to all the ways in which you are moving around me. Jesus, do not let this broken world blind me from seeing your beautiful, wounded hands in my life.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

Amen.
